1. To build a genetic family tree of everyone from around the world, regardless of where your family comes from. 2. To build a regional genetic breakdown of ancestry within countries, similar to 'The Peopling of the British Isles project'. This part of the project is looking for people with all four grandparents born within 80km (50mi) of each ...

I've done both FTDNA and Living DNA. - I paid almost $300 to FTDNA and got nothing more than Y-DNA=G-M201 (not terribly helpful). Their G2a-L497 project did, however, provide much help in evaluating a 'possible' G2a-Z726 profile. - Living DNA cost $79 and gave me Y-DNA=G-Z726, mtDNA= K1a4a1h, and auDNA=68% British Isles & 32% Germanic.

Aug 16, 2017. #1. Based on perusing the results of other LivingDNA users, it appears that LivingDNA doesn't offer better Y haplogroup resolution than the newest version of 23andMe or Ancestry.com tests. 23andMe and Ancestry test 1691 Y positions. LivingDNA claims 20,000 but in an email to me they said the data was 16,000 lines.

agree with you but rest of his result look logic i think living dna go much farther than 2000 years maybe even to neolithic time maybe that would explain why i saw a kurd who scored 17.9% tuscany in complete mode this kurd is not pure as he is 1/4 turkish but still .... i think those are shared early european farmers genes ....

Near East 20.7%. Levant 11%. North Turkey 9.8%. Asia (South) 1.6%. Balochistan 1.6%. On 23andme (It's supposed to go 500 years far back in time while LivingDNA 10 generations) I have no MENA, no Sardinia, no Asia but I have 3% north western Europe and 0.2% east Europe. Imo, in my case the results aren't very accurate.

Living DNA Raw Data files are now available to download from their site. I downloaded mine earlier and must admit to being somewhat disappointed with it. The Y-SNP data appears to only show the SNP's I tested positive for and doesn't list the other SNP's they tested.

Ftdna is even worse. It will just tell you that you are something like 80-100% southeast european and maybe some British isles. 23andMe is a little better imo, because they will break down those components into smaller components like"italian""eastern euro" and so on.

Actually what makes it even more interesting is that even in the Cautious mode of Living DNA the 6.8% for Iberian Peninsula persists. I've got four (4) theories already: 1) Parts of Greece, and more importantly in my case, parts of Central Greece (where my mother comes from - my father comes from Thessaly) where occupied by"the Franks" in the 13th, 14th and first half of 15th century.

Living DNA's autosomal composition isn't perfect yet, as all Belgians are reported to be mostly a mix of Southeast England, East Anglia, South England, Devon and Yorkshire. Overall Belgians get between 60% and 85% of British, depending on the individual, due to the close proximity and historical connections (Belgae, Anglo-Saxons) between the two populations.

Hello, I received yesterday my Living DNA results. I chose this company because i read on different websites that they had very good and detailled results with autosomal DNA. I have previously tested different companies, all with different results. With Living DNA the results seems strange to me because i have 51.7% of British Isles.
