Windows 11 doesn't recognize my camera for"Hello" sign-in

I would suggest you to try re-installing the Camera app and check if that helps. Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin). Now type in the command: Get-AppxPackage *camera* | Remove-AppxPackage. Restart the PC. Once the PC restarts download and install the app from Microsoft store.

My camera stopped working a few days ago. I wasn't able to log-in using Windows Hello and the camera app wasn't working either. I looked for a solution online and based on an answer on this website added a file in the registry. This fixed the camera app but not Windows Hello. I removed my face data from Windows Hello and tried to set it up again.

My camera displays a padlock and will not function in skype or zoom. I have been to settings, privacy, camera, and access to the camera is on. I have also allowed every listed app, including skype and zoom, access to the camera. It makes no difference whatsoever. Help!
