Luckily, CoinGecko (and I assume similar sources) offers a great API: Navigate to the Crypto API in the Products tab. Click on"Explore Docs" CoinGecko has a nifty little feature, where you can try out different API calls, to make sure you have the right call, and thereby the right URL you'll need later.

Transferring my portfolio data from CoinGecko to some other platform
I've tried CoinGecko, Coinstats, CMC and blockfolio. found that they're quite similar, except that Coinstats allows to sync via API, but the synced data is messy sometimes. yea, CG uptime was quite bad recently, the team said this fixed it, hope so. but i'm curious, what do you mean by inaccuracies and way info displayed in CoinGecko app?

CoinGecko vs CoinMarketCap : r/CryptoCurrency - Reddit
CoinGecko's web app is significantly faster and more stable. Often actions don't go through on CoinMarketCap but it makes up for it in features and its portfolio management IMHO. As I mentioned earlier, at first glance CoinMarketCap just looks like a newer version of CoinGecko to me and seems to use a modern framework that would explain its heaviness.

I use the Coingecko app and it’s great. You can create a favourites list to follow only the coins you want to see and can even add your amounts to keep track of your gains or losses. They also have a cool currency calculator and the candies for daily use is a free reward. The news feed is regularly updated as well. I’m a big fan of Coingecko.

CoinGecko is really slow lately.. : r/CryptoCurrency - Reddit
Anyone else notice that CoinGecko is really slow lately? Just stuck loading all the time. I love the website, and especially the portfolio tracker which is very easy to use. I don't know if it's due to higher usage lately or something else, but I'm thinking about migrating away from it soon if they don't improve their performance.
