But if you are using"definitely" it is better placed before the verb it modifies. Compare: We cannot definitely say anything about it. (we might say something that is not definite) We definitely cannot say anything about it. (we can't say anything at all) These have very different meanings.

@randomhead Ditto. Native English speaker here and"It's ok with me" is perfectly fine. Maybe it is regional, I don't know, and maybe the phrase"dog's hackles were up" is also regional because that's something I would never, ever think to say :).

Adverbs can appear between I and am, like really, definitely, etc. What X can't never be is the plain form of a verb. So you can say I am walking but never I am walk. You can say I am to walk but not I am walk. You can say I am cooking hamburgers or I cook hamburgers but never I am cook hamburgers.

Definitely, there are multiple points that we need to improve on. However, if I was writing a briefing instead of answering a question, I might find it awkward to begin with"definitely," so I might say it this way instead: There are definitely multiple points that we need to improve on.

"I don't count" is definitely much more common than"I'm not counted". The sentences are semantically equivalent."Count" is a non-agentive verb here, where a non-agent can be a subject, similar to a passive sentence. My guess is that the active sentence is just simpler to construct than the passive. –

If I don’t talk to you beforehand (chances are I most definitely will), I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season, and a Happy and Healthy New Year! (2) If I don't talk to you beforehand, I'll see you in the morning. (3) If I don't talk to you beforehand, I'll pick you up at your sister's at seven.

I think you must have mistyped when searching for those results or rather, Google auto corrected it."you are definitely need to" and"you are definitely require to" are grammatically wrong. When using"you are" in such a structure it is usually followed by past tense of the verb. In this case, it should be"needed" or"required." –

If being a medical transcriptionist could make me rich because of excellent pay, then I would definitely stay on the job, sadly it can not. I think a little more revision is needed to make this really natural, though. If I could get rich being a medical transcriptionist, I would stay on the job. Sadly, I can't. or something like
