After you have cataloged all of your music in the computer, open the Windows Media Player and let it catalog the music as well. There, on the lower right corner of the player panel is a small icon and click on it to display the mini-player. On the mini-player, right click on it for the mouse menu and choose"Enhancements".

In Windows 7 I just click on the speaker in the lower left hand side of the screen on the toolbar, then click on the speaker, then click the Enhancements tab and select equalizer. Not sure how to get to this in Windows 10. I am running it on a WinBook tablet, not sure if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Based on a clue from the ASUS forums, I went to the programs menu and found the Realtek Audio Console. Under"Playback Devices" on the left, I see"Speakers". I click on it and- voila'!-. Right under"Sound Effects" is a lovely, working, 10-band equalizer. There's also a Loudness setting further below, so that I get a bass boost at low volumes.

Press Alt key to display the menu bar, and then go to View menu to select Enhancements in the pull down menu. The following enhancement options can be found: Crossfading and auto volume leveling. Graphic equalizer. Play speed settings. Quiet mode. SRS WOW effects. Video settings. Dolby Digital settings.

The equalizer can be turned on if available in sound properties. Click the Windows logo on the taskbar then type mmsys.cpl then click the search result. Under playback, double-click your current audio device (the one with a green check on it) to open its properties. On its properties, the equalizer should be under enhancements.
