I see no practical way to handle this in a cell. However you can create a cell style that adds automatically the bullet and apply that style to the cells containing the text concerned. Works the same in Calc. Alternatively right click on a column header and from context menu choose Optimal Width. Strange, for whatever reason it does not perform it when simply double clicking the divider bar, but it does if I use the right-click and choose Optimal Width method.
