Aug 15, 2014. #1. Can someone describe the facial expression of a person looks hopeless without using words like hopeless or despair but with some action verbs, such as eyebrows knitted? The scene is --. a character bursts into laughter when knows a good news. then the character's face transforms into hopeless expression when he hears a bad news.
Imagine you are hopeless at maths or at soccer. How would you translate that? I'd say:"Soy muy malo en matemáticas/en el fútbol", but there are some other expressions which are more accurate to my translation, such as:"be weak/terrible at something" So... how would you say be hopeless...
Any number and any direction will work. Obviously, “It's twelve days north of hopeless [2]” means “The town is without any advantages.” whereas “It's one day north of hopeless” would mean that it is only a little bit worse than a place without any advantages.”. [1]I am sure that all of these above expressions are available in Farsi.
A bookkeeper who can't add or a carpenter who can't cut a straight line with a saw is hopeless cases. I was wondering why 'is' is used while it says 'cases'. Is it because 'or' is used instead of 'and', in which case it should be 'are'? A bookkeeper who can't add and a carpenter who can't cut a straight line with a saw are hopeless cases. Thanks.

All night the saxophones wailed the hopeless comment of the Beale Street Blues while a hundred pairs of golden and silver slippers shuffled the shining dust." This is an excerpt from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitsgerald. After Daisy and Gatsby fell in love with each other, Gatsby was once again summoned to war and Daisy waited; even after ...
