The difference between the Santander 123 and 123 Lite account is the monthly cost, the interest rate, and a few eligibility requirements. For the Santander 123 account, you’ll need to pay double the amount each month to gain access to a 0.3% interest.

Customers with Santander's 123, 123 Lite, Private and Select accounts will get a boosted 3% cashback on water bills paid by direct debit (currently you get just 1%), while the cashback paid for phone, broadband, mobile and TV packages will drop from 3% to 1%. Cashback on other bills is not changing.

Santander has launched a new current account offering up to £30 cashback a month as well as 3.5% interest on balances up to £25,000. The new Edge Up account also features fee-free debit card spending abroad, which is good news for anyone planning a foreign holiday this summer.
The new current account offers 1% cashback – maximum £15 a month – on essential debit card spending at supermarkets as well as travel, including fuel, train and bus tickets and electric vehicle charging. It excludes flights, however.
