B & Q Trade account number wanted. mstopham Posts: 200 Forumite. 10 March 2011 at 11:32AM. Hi, I am renovating a house and have a load of B & Q gift cards to use. Most of the materials and bits I want are further discounted at B&Q with their tradepoint system but as I work in IT I cannot get an account myself.

5 January 2012 at 8:06PM. Looked at new kitchens from B&Q, Wickes and Tesco, Tesco came out at £10,000, B&Q £5500 and Wickes £6250. B&Q had an induction hob reduced to £90 on both the main web site and the tradepoint site - Paying for it through the main checkout (with credit card) gave me full consumer rights. My local B&Q wasn't picky about self employed status or which trade I work in.

B & Q are one of the highest priced (if not the highest priced) operators in the DIY / Home improvement sector. They have a massive mark up on all of their stock. The tradepoint is supposed to be trade only. The reason why B&Q's old trade desk was scrapped was because too many non tradesman had signed upto accounts and benefits that only tradesmen should get were open to everyone. B&Q Trade Card + Gift Card — MoneySavingExpert Forum
A B&Q gift card can be used as payment in store with a TradePoint trade discount. If you have a trade account with Trade UK and want to use your gift card to pay your monthly statement, then I don't know but I think it very unlikely. If this was possible then this would allow the B&Q gift card to pay for purchases at Screwfix.
