WordPad is not part of Microsoft Office, but to determine where that documents are being saved, open WordPad (or Word, if that's what you actually are using), type a few random letters, and then use the"Save as" option. The location of the file will be shown in the box at the top:

To open WordPad in Windows 10, Type WordPad in the Search box and press Enter. WordPad lets you create, edit, save, open, view, and print text documents. You can use bold, underline & italics formatting, change font type color & size, create bulleted lists, center or left/right justify paragraphs, insert images, and more.

Microsoft has not released any announcement or article about why they removed Wordpad only announced that WordPad is no longer being updated and will be removed in a future release of Windows. WordPad comes already built-in to Windows 10 so you don't need to download it. You should be able to find it here:->Windows Accessories->WordPad. or by typing wordpad in the search box on your taskbar then selecting it when it appears (listed as a desktop app).
